TraitScope Big Five
Take a 50-item Big Five personality test, get exact scores and a share card.
TraitScope Big Five gives you the public-domain IPIP 50-item Big-Five Factor Markers (Goldberg, 1992) as an interactive test. It scores every item with the published keying, reports raw scores for Extraversion, Agreeableness, Conscientiousness, Emotional Stability and Intellect/Imagination, shows an approximate percentile among more than a million online test-takers, and creates a share card and a share page where friends can take the same test and compare.
What it does
- The 50 public-domain IPIP Big-Five Factor Marker items, one at a time, with progress bar and back button
- Exact scoring: published +/- keying, reverse-keyed items scored 6 minus the answer, raw scores 10-50
- Approximate percentiles against 1M+ online volunteers who took the same items (Open-Source Psychometrics Project data)
- Plain-language description per trait and band (low, average, high)
- SVG share card and a share page where friends take the same test in their browser and compare
- Side-by-side comparison of two people's scores, with no compatibility claims
Try asking ChatGPT
“Give me a Big Five personality test”
“Score my Big Five test: 4,2,4,2,4,2,5,2,4,2,4,1,5,3,5,2,4,2,3,2,4,2,3,3,4,2,4,3,3,2,4,2,4,3,4,2,4,2,3,4,3,4,4,3,5,2,4,4,2,5”
“Compare Big Five scores: Alex E34 A41 C29 ES30 I38 and Sam E22 A38 C44 ES35 I31”
Limitations
- Self-report personality description for ages 13+; not a diagnosis, mental-health assessment, or hiring/selection tool
- Percentiles come from an online volunteer sample, not a representative population norm
- English item wording only; the 50-item form measures the five broad domains, not facets
- No account and no history: retaking the test starts fresh
